Sojourning at Eagle View Lodge

Sojourning at Eagle View Lodge

It has been ten days since I embarked on a tour of all thirty districts of Rwanda. So far, I have been to Gasabo, Nyarugenge and Kicukiro. As expected, the three districts constituting the City of Kigali haven’t disappointed.

In Gasabo, I rediscovered my bowling touch. In Nyarugenge, I burned some calories along the steep trails of Kanyinya Hill. On my first day in Kicukiro, I visited Agaseke Center and drew some inspiration from the journey of a 22-year-old entrepreneur.

Today, I am leaving the capital. My next destination is Rwamagana District in the Eastern Province. Before I hit the road, allow me to write something about Eagle View Lodge, my accommodation facility of choice in Kicukiro District.

About a year ago, a friend of mine recommended this posh property when I was looking for a place to host a foreign client. After checking it out, I looked no further. Ever since, I have been dropping by once in a while. Apart from accommodation, the establishment offers fine dining experiences.

Eagle View Lodge is found on the edge of Rebero forest. The said forest is home to a wide variety of bird species and a few baboons. It’s hard to believe this tranquil hideout is only fifteen minutes from the CBD. Kigali will never stop amazing me.

Speaking of Kigali, have you ever wondered what’s the best spot to soak up the view of the city? Wonder no more. At Eagle View, all you need to do is open the curtains. On a good day, you can see Muhabura in the Virunga Massif.

As my long tour picks up steam, I need to take a good care of my body, mind and soul. In some districts, I will sojourn in luxury lodges and exotic resorts. Eagle View Lodge has paved the way. Jacuzzi, massage parlor, exquisite cuisines, top-notch interior design, nature, breathtaking view... Need I say more?

Touring thirty districts sounds like a crazy idea. However, doing so in three months is a walk in the park. Proximity between neighboring districts makes it easy to divide the long journey into manageable steps. As a matter of fact, it is harder to run errands in Kigali for three months than visiting every district within the same time frame.

Stay with me throughout the duration of this grand tour of Rwanda and find out what the land of 1,000 Hills has to offer. Good things are meant to be shared, and these chronicles are no exceptions. Before I let you go, could you please spare a second to share this piece with fellow travel enthusiasts. Thank you.
