FAME Guest House: Seamless Blend of Business and Leisure

FAME Guest House: Seamless Blend of Business and Leisure

This summer, I am visiting all 30 districts of Rwanda. Today is my third and last day in Gasabo District. I wish I can stay longer, but I have twenty-nine more districts to visit. It’s time to go.

On the first day of the much anticipated expedition, I spent a few hours occupying my favorite table at FAME Guest House’s coworking space. The said guest house is found in Remera Sector.

Even after months of preparations, behind-the-scenes tasks will inevitably be part of my daily routine throughout the three-month tour. It takes a lot of work to mobilize resources and coordinate all parties involved in a campaign of this magnitude.

Later in the afternoon, I visited Mamba Club and participated in an exciting bowling game. My experiences in Kigali’s only bowling alley created the first story of the 90-episode series.

It’s a beautiful sunny morning here in Kigali. I am having breakfast at the aforementioned guest house. I chose to stay at FAME, during my Gasabo sojourn, because it’s easy to work and conduct meetings here. In addition, I wanted to experience Remera’s vibrant nightlife.

Last night, a live band was performing next door — Bahamas Pub to be specific. The acoustic band, playing sentimental Kinyarwanda songs, made me hang out longer than I was supposed to. As a result, this story wasn’t written before bedtime as initially planned.

As mentioned earlier, I am scheduled to leave Gasabo today. Before I cross into the neighboring Nyarugenge District, I need to give back to the community. Shortly after publishing this piece, I will dash to kabuga Youth Center to donate books, courtesy of Mamba Club.
